Nearly all of UnitedHealthcare employee-sponsored plan participants now have access to myHealthcare Cost Estimator, an online and mobile service that allows people to comparison shop for health care services.

The estimator is free to employers and plan participants through the Health4Me app and online (link). It’s designed to help consumers find care while estimating the cost of more than 450 common services.

Plan participants can compare quality and cost information for more than 540,000 physicians and 4,500 hospitals. The estimator uses UnitedHealthcare’s contracted rates with physicians, hospitals, clinics and other health care professionals.

Patients with questions can call the number on their health benefits ID cards or use the click-to-call feature on their Health4Me mobile app. The tool also is integrated with other information and resources.
